Renting a tap for your event.
Wedding, birthday, stag do, office party: how many kegs, how much it costs, how it works. The complete guide to serving craft on tap without the hassle.

Wedding, birthday, stag do, office party: how many kegs, how much it costs, how it works. The complete guide to serving craft on tap without the hassle.

Let's be clear: a tap is what turns an evening from 'drinks with mates' into a proper event. The beer flows fresh and fizzy, on demand, and you've no thirty bottles to open or haul around. We rent them out for all kinds of events, so here's what I'd have wanted explained to me beforehand, no waffle.
For an event, it's often smarter than stacking up packs. A keg means less packaging to handle and bin, no fridge overflowing with cans, and beer served at the right pressure, nice and fresh, from the first glass to the last. There's the social side too: a tap brings people together, it creates a gathering point where everyone serves themselves and chats. And on large volumes, a keg often works out cheaper per litre than a pile of bottles. You serve better, you waste less, and the atmosphere follows.
It mainly depends on the type of event, and that's where you have to be honest with yourself: a wedding meal where people drink all evening isn't a one-hour office send-off. As a benchmark, for a festive event that lasts (a wedding, a big birthday, a full-day stag do), I count around one litre of beer per adult over the day, to adjust to the occasion. A 30-litre keg is about 120 glasses of 25cl, enough to serve around thirty people. For 60 guests, two kegs; for 90, three. You've nothing to work out in detail: our configurator suggests a number for your headcount, and I'd far rather suggest one keg too many than one too few. If you want to fine-tune, our method for estimating quantities digs into it.
Our taps have two spouts. You can stick with a single beer, or offer two — often one light and easy, and one with a bit more character, so everyone finds their thing. You pick your kegs from our year-round range, the one we brew all year.
We have both types of tap, and we provide one or the other depending on your needs. CO2 taps push the beer with a small gas cylinder: the pressure stays stable, the pour steady, and the beer keeps its fizz throughout the event, handy when you're serving over several hours. Taps without CO2 work without a cylinder: more compact and above all easier to transport, they're perfect for an event where the keg is finished within the day. Tell us your situation and we'll suggest the best fit.
The tap is €25, and it's free from two kegs onwards. 30L kegs run from €130 to €150 depending on the beer. We don't rent the tap on its own, without a keg: we're brewers before we're equipment renters, and a tap without our beer in it wouldn't really make sense.
We've kept it as simple as possible: pickup and return at the brewery in Geispolsheim, on a slot you choose, five days maximum. A deposit is pre-authorized on your card (nothing is charged) and released as soon as the gear comes back. No delivery, but pro equipment ready to plug in. You send us your dates, we confirm availability within 24 working hours, and on the day you just enjoy.
